Which engine is in your Doblo

The smaller 1.3 works harder for the same road speed and tends to be a touch more sensitive to short-run blocking than the 1.6, on either generation. Neither engine uses an additive fluid: both rely on exhaust heat and drive cycle alone to complete a regeneration, which is why multi-drop delivery work and short local jobs are the pattern that catches most Doblo drivers out.
How the clean is done on a Doblo
The process is identical whether your Doblo has the 1.3 or the 1.6, and it's carried out wherever the van is parked, not at a garage.
A diagnostic read confirms the soot load and pulls any stored fault codes before work starts.
The chemical cleaning agent is introduced through the DPF's existing service ports. No removal, no ramp.
A controlled engine sequence works the agent through the filter substrate, typically 60 to 90 minutes on site.
A post-clean differential pressure check confirms exhaust flow has been restored across the filter.
Stored fault codes are cleared and the warning light goes out before we leave.
Which of these does your Doblo need
The large majority of Doblo DPF warnings are a soot problem, and our clean and DPF repair are the same £275 fixed service under either name. Does the regen system differ between Doblo engines?
Not in any way that changes the fix. Both the 1.3 and 1.6 Multijet units use the same non-additive regen strategy, so neither warns earlier or later on principle, and a motorway run helps both engines in roughly the same way. The main practical difference is that the smaller 1.3, working harder for the same load, can be a touch quicker to load up on a van used mostly for short multi-drop rounds.
