Why DPFs block
Your diesel particulate filter captures soot from the exhaust before it enters the atmosphere. Under normal motorway driving conditions, the filter periodically burns off that soot at high exhaust temperatures, a process called regeneration. The problem is that many diesel vehicles spend most of their time on short urban journeys, never getting hot enough to complete a full regen. Soot accumulates, the filter loads up, and eventually the engine management system flags it with a warning light and drops into limp mode.
A forced regen via a diagnostic tool can clear the light temporarily, but it does not remove the ash and soot that have built up inside the filter. A chemical clean does.
How our chemical flush works
We do not remove the DPF. Instead, we introduce a specialist cleaning solution directly through the filter's inlet and outlet ports while it remains on the vehicle. The solution works into the soot and ash deposits, breaking them down so they can be flushed out. The process is safe for the filter and the surrounding components, and it does not require a workshop or a ramp.
Once the flush is complete, we carry out a test run to bring exhaust temperatures up and clear any residual material. Most vehicles leave with the warning light off and normal power restored. The whole process takes around 90 minutes at your location.
