Why fleet vehicles block DPFs faster
DPF blockages are not random. They follow a predictable pattern, and fleet vehicles are far more exposed to that pattern than privately owned cars.
Diesel particulate filters clean themselves through a process called regeneration, which requires the engine to reach and sustain a high exhaust temperature. On a motorway run, this happens automatically. On the routes most commercial fleets actually run, urban deliveries, trade calls, multi-drop logistics, cold starts first thing in the morning, it often does not.
A van doing ten stops in a morning never gets warm enough to regen. A fleet of ten vans doing the same route is producing ten blocked filters on a similar timeline. Add in heavier loads, older vehicles, and extended service intervals, and the rate of blockage accelerates.
This is not a fault with how the vehicles are operated. It is the DPF doing its job in conditions it was not optimally designed for. The solution is regular cleaning before the blockage becomes critical, not waiting for the warning light.
How we work with fleet operators
We attend your site, depot, yard, or compound, and work through your vehicles one by one. Each clean is carried out using a chemical flush process that dissolves accumulated soot and ash from inside the filter, restoring flow without removing or replacing it. The process takes around 90 minutes per vehicle.
We can work through several vehicles in a single visit and will agree a schedule with you in advance. Vehicles are cleaned in sequence, keeping each one off the road for around 90 minutes and nothing more. Your operation keeps moving.
