Why DPF and EGR faults often appear together
On high-mileage diesel vehicles, the DPF and EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) system are closely linked. The EGR valve recirculates exhaust gases back into the intake to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. Over time, it deposits carbon throughout the intake, intercooler, and inlet manifold. This carbon build-up affects combustion quality, which in turn makes DPF regeneration less effective, causing the filter to block more frequently.
In practice, many vehicles arrive with fault codes on both systems at the same time. Addressing only one often leads to the other failing again shortly after.
Combined delete in one visit
For off-road and track vehicles, a combined DPF and EGR delete resolves both issues in a single appointment. Our ECU remap removes the DPF function from the engine management software and disables the EGR valve, suppressing all related fault codes and warning lights. Both systems are addressed in one mobile visit, no need for multiple appointments or two separate remaps.
